What is child dedication all about?
Dedication is a commitment by the parents and their church family to care for the child's spiritual, physical and emotional well-being. Dedication is a time where parents publicly seek the Lord's blessing on their child by declaring that this child belongs to God. Children are the ultimate expression of Godly stewardship.
In this happy, public ceremony, parents commit to following God's will, as stated in His Word, in raising their little one. By doing this, the parent(s) openly honor the Lord in the joyful privilege of leading their child to respect, love, and serve the Lord Jesus Christ.
